Why Add Avocado In Brownies?
Adding avocado to brownies creates an incredibly rich and fudgy texture that’s simply irresistible. Don’t worry about tasting the avocado; its flavor is beautifully masked by the dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and sweetener, resulting in a decadent treat that’s pure indulgence.
Ingredients Needed
- Avocado – To make sure his brownies taste incredible, choose a ripe avocado that’s super creamy.
- Eggs – Large eggs are needed to bind all the ingredients. If you’re allergic to eggs, replace them with chia egg or flax eggs to make the best vegan avocado brownies.
- Cocoa powder – Opt for high-quality cocoa powder to infuse your brownies with a rich, deep chocolate flavor that’ll have you coming back for more.
- Almond flour – To replace classic white flour, replace it with blanched superfine almond flour. The unique qualities of almond flour make it unreplaceable in this recipe, so if you want to use a different keto flour, you may have to adjust the entire recipe.
- Sweetener – Depending on your dietary preferences, choose an appropriate sweetener such as Erythritol, Monkfruit, Allulose, or Coconut Sugar (though note that the latter is not low carb). Finding the right sweetener for your taste buds is key to achieving the perfect balance of sweetness in your brownies.
- Coconut oil – If you’re not a fan of the taste of coconut, opt for refined coconut oil, which has no coconut flavor. Alternatively, you can use softened unsalted butter as a delicious alternative.
- Dark chocolate – When selecting dark chocolate for your brownies, look for brands that offer keto-friendly options that are sugar-free and contain a high percentage of cocoa (preferably above 80%). This ensures that your brownies are indulgent without being overly sweet, making them a guilt-free treat for any occasion.

- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Even my budget-friendly food processor works like a charm for this!
- Pour the chocolate avocado batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper. For extra indulgence, sprinkle sugar-free chocolate chips and walnuts on top if you like.
- Bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, or until your healthy chocolate brownies are perfectly baked and ready to be devoured!
Tips for the Best Keto Avocado Brownies
- Make sure your avocados are ripe and creamy. You’ll need 1 1/2 cups of avocado or about two medium-large fruits.
- Use a high-quality vanilla extract – I love to use this brand because it gives such a pleasant vanilla taste.
- Use enough cacao powder to prevent the brownies taste eggy.
- The avocado brownie batter should be thicker than regular brownie batter. Watch the video to see the exact consistency.
- Adjust the sweetness to your taste preference. Depending on the chocolate used, these healthy brownies may vary in sweetness. I prefer them to be moderately sweet. Note that altering the sweetener amount can affect the consistency.
- Any granulated sweetener works; I recommend using an erythritol blend. Avoid using STEVIA extract, as it tends to become bitter when baked. For those following a paleo diet, coconut sugar is a suitable option.
Most of the time I share all the recipes I make with my family and ask for honest opinions. So this time, after dinner I gave each a keto brownie to taste and asked what they think. They devoured the entire batch without knowing there were avocados in the brownies and asked for more.
I love avocado, and I could eat it in any way possible. But, I know that not all of you enjoy avocado as I do. You can disguise it into these delicious low carb brownies and enjoy the health benefits without eating the green fruit as it is.

How do we calculate the nutrition info?
These nutrition facts listed are determined using nutrition information from the USDA Food Database. Our nutrition facts are accurate, but if you are using different products, please make your calculations. Net carb count is calculated by subtracting both fiber and sugar alcohols because they don’t raise blood sugar.
1 cup dark chocolate unsweetened
Is that SOLID chocolate? If so, how many GRAMS?
I used 90 grams of 100% dark chocolate. Any chocolate with 85% or more cocoa will work to make these avocado brownies.
Hello! Made these brownies according to your recipe and they came out looking pretty similar! For my preference, if I were to make this again I would probably use 75% chocolate so it was a bit sweeter. With the known drier texture of almond flour they tasted great with some whipped cream!

Should the swerve sweetener also be subtracted from the total carbs to get a more accurate net carb count? I haven’t made these yet, I’m waiting on a few ingredients to arrive ❤️
Yes, subtract the sugar alcohols and fiber to get net carbs 🙂
