Ingredients Needed

I love these gluten-free brownies since it’s an extremely delicious and easy-to-make recipe that requires only a few ingredients that are easy to find.

Here is everything you need to make a fudgy brownie:

  • Dark Chocolate – Make sure you use high-quality dark chocolate to obtain the most delicious results. You can use any dark chocolate with 85-99% cocoa content.
  • Coconut Oil – If you don’t like the taste of coconut, use refined coconut oil, which has a neutral flavor.
  • Eggs – To avoid the eggy flavor, make sure you use room-temperature eggs.
  • Coconut Sugar- I recommended using your favorite healthy granulated sweeteners such as brown sugar or erythritol.
  • Almond Flour – Use super-fine almond flour or sift the almond flour to remove any lumps and avoid that gritty texture.
  • Cocoa Powder – To get the most chocolate flavor, use unsweetened, high-quality cocoa powder.
  • Baking Powder – aids in the airy texture of these healthy brownies.
  • Salt – this ingredient is used to enhance the flavors.

TIP: If you want to make nut-free brownies, you can replace the almond flour with oat flour or check my coconut flour brownies recipe.

How To Make Healthy Paleo Brownies

Once you have all the ingredients, making these easy fudgy healthy brownies is extremely easy. Here is everything you have to do:

Step 1 – Make The Brownie Batter

Start by adding chocolate and coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl and melt them.

Stir in the eggs and sugar in a mixing bowl and mix them until fluffy.

Whisk on low speed while adding in the melted chocolate. Whisk in the chocolate until it is completely dissolved.

Sift the dry ingredients: almond flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet ingredients mixture and mix until no clumps remain.

Step 2 – Assemble and Bake

Pour the batter into an 8×8-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper. Smooth the top and top it with chocolate chips.

Bake at 180°C for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.

TIP: Brownies are done when a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out mostly clean. If the toothpick comes out completely clean, the brownies are overbaked and may not be just as fudgy.

How To Substitute Eggs In Brownies?

To make healthy vegan brownies, you can replace the eggs with chickpea water (aquafaba). Whip for 3-5 minutes until semi-stiff peaks form, then incorporate into the batter.

Recipe Variations

There are a few ways to make this healthy recipe even more delicious. Here are a few great suggestions:

  • Add your favorite nuts like walnuts, pecans, and almonds for an extra crunch.
  • Mix in fresh or frozen fruits into the batter.
  • Add shredded coconut if you are a coconut lover.

How To Serve?

I like serving these brownies as simple as they are, but there are also other great ideas for serving them. Here are some of them:

  • Top with a delicious homemade chocolate frosting.
  • Or you can top it with homemade Nutella.
  • Serve with your favorite ice cream on top.

How To Store Healthy Chocolate Brownies

  • Fridge – These healthy brownies can be kept in an airtight container for 5 days in the refrigerator.
  • Freezer – These brownies can also be frozen. You will have to wrap brownies individually in plastic wrap and freeze them for up to 3 months. When ready to serve, defrost at room temperature before reheating in the microwave for a few seconds.

Can I use coconut flour instead of almond flour?

I recommend not substituting almond flour for coconut flour in this recipe because the macros and texture of the final result will be affected.

How To Tell When Brownies Are Done

A toothpick will help you. Insert it into the pan’s middle and pull it out. They’ll require a longer time if the toothpick has wet batter. If there are moist crumbs on the toothpick, they are done; if there are none, you may have overbaked them, so remove them from the oven immediately.
