I’m trying to decide if I’m mostly a dessert fan or salty snacks fan. I’m not sure if I can choose, but until I figure it out, I’ll say I love having both. It all depends on my state of mind. Some days go for desserts, and on others I’m all about salty snacks.

Well, let’s get straight to making these crispy and flavorful almond flour chips that have the texture of classic corn tortilla chips.

These keto nacho chips are similar to Doritos chips. I could finish a bag of those before the movie even started.

The good part is that this recipe for tortilla chips has only natural ingredients and seasonings unlike a bag of store-bought chips that have tons of artificial flavoring and colorings and are fried in unhealthy fats.

Can you believe that salty chips actually have sugar added? It’s insane, but companies disguise sugar under at least 61 different names.

Are Tortilla Chips Keto Friendly?

Unfortunately, regular tortilla chips aren’t keto because the main ingredient used to make them is corn, followed by wheat flour, artificial flavorings, sugar, and other not so keto ingredients.

However, there are a few brands that sell keto tortillas, so you don’t have to do the work of making them at home. But even those chips aren’t completely made of keto-friendly ingredients.

I’m thrilled to let you know that these keto nacho chips are super crispy, crunchy and the best alternative to classic tortilla chips. It’s so easy to make your own low carb chips at home with a handful of ingredients.

  1. Make the fathead dough by combining melted mozzarella, almond flour, eggs, and seasonings. Knead the dough for about 2 minutes or until it forms a ball. If your dough is too sticky, let it chill for about 4-5 minutes, and it will be so easy to work with it.
  2. Roll the fathead dough using 2 sheets of baking paper to prevent the dough from sticking to your rolling pin.
  3. Cut the dough into small triangular shapes using a sharp knife.
  4. Bake at 350F for about 10-12 minutes or until the chips are crispy and start turning light brown.

Keep an eye on the chips as they bake because they tend to burn faster than the classic chips. Turn them on the other side halfway through the baking process.

Tips For Making The Best Keto Tortilla Chips

  • If the dough cools way too much, bring it back in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • For crispy low carb chips, you have to roll the fathead dough as thin as possible. If you don’t roll the dough thin enough, the chips will not be as crispy, but they are still incredibly delicious.

  • Feel free to add your favorite seasonings to change the flavor of your tortillas.

Can I Make Them With Different Flavors?

Sure, this is another great thing about this recipe. So if you want to be creative, you may create a variety of tastes.

  • Before baking the chips, add some smoked paprika and tomato paste for a great BBQ flavor.

  • Add some grated parmesan over them to give a cheesy flavor.
  • Sprinkle your favorite dried herbs over the tortilla chips.

Can I Make Keto Tortilla Chips In An Air Fryer?

  • Fridge: Keep refrigerated for up to a week in an airtight container.

  1. Started making these chips a few weeks ago and they are really good, I add onion and garlic powder along with some chili powder for that extra zing. They are great to put in my lunch box for a snack.
