If you’re craving that bold, tangy-sweet flavor of Chinese orange chicken but want something easier, lighter, and ready in under 30 minutes, this Sticky Ground Orange Chicken is your new go-to recipe. Made with lean ground chicken, fresh orange juice, and a sweet-savory soy glaze, it delivers restaurant-quality flavor—without the fuss of breading or deep-frying.
Make the Orange Sauce. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sweetener or honey, tomato paste, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set aside.
Cook the Chicken. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger(if using fresh) and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Brown the Chicken. Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully cooked and slightly browned.
Add the Sauce. Pour the prepared orange sauce over the cooked chicken. Stir well to coat all the meat.
Simmer Until Sticky. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the chicken and sauce for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy and sticky.
Serve. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
