Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1 teaspoon of salt.

Prepare a large bowl of ice water and set it aside.

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced almonds and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown.

Blanch the green beans for about 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.

Quickly remove the green beans from the boiling water using a slotted spoon or tongs and immediately transfer them to the bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter over medium heat.

Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, then sauté for 3-4 minutes until they become fragrant and tender.

– Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, until they are heated through and slightly tender.

Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, freshly ground black pepper and toasted almonds.
