Chicken Crust Pizza
Can you believe that having pizza on a keto diet is possible?
Yes, and it’s made with ground chicken. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy a delicious pizza without the carbs and tons of work. It’s easier to make than the famous fathead pizza crust and customizable with your favorite toppings.
I’m sure you know all about the fathead pizza crust that’s a mixture of almond flour, mozzarella cheese, eggs, and seasonings, but today I’m going to share with you my latest carb-free pizza crust recipe.
Watch this quick video to see how easy it is to make the best chicken crust!
Ingredients For This Zero Carb Chicken Crust Pizza
Only four ingredients to make this recipe. Yes, you read right. You will need only a few ingredients to make this delicious recipe.
- Ground Chicken – you can also use shredded chicken or canned chicken.
- Large egg – to bind all the ingredients together.
- Parmesan Cheese – feel free to replace it with Mozzarella cheese.
- Italian Seasoning – this is my favorite Seasoning for pizza, but you can also use your favorite one.
- Salt & Pepper – to taste
How to Make Chicken Crust Pizza?
It will take you a few minutes to gather all the ingredients, shape the mixture into a pizza looking crust and bake until golden and beautiful.
- To make the process easier, start by preheating the oven. By the time you have to bake the crust, you won’t have to wait.
- In a large bowl combine the ground chicken, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and the Italian seasoning. Use plain, unseasoned ground chicken.
- Spread the chicken mixture into a big round pizza shaped crust.
- Sometimes I like to shape it into 2-3 mini individual pizza, bake and then freeze them for further use.
- Bake the crust for about 20 minutes before adding any toppings. Don’t worry if the pizza crust starts juicing in the oven; it’s the moisture released by the chicken while baking.
- Try removing as much moisture as possible with some paper towels, then add your favorite toppings. Bake for another 10 minutes and the keto pizza is ready to be served.
I love to keep things simple, so I only added low carb pizza sauce and some mozzarella cheese. But you can add any pizza toppings you like. Some vegetables such as mushrooms or peppers would be a perfect addition.
How Many Carbs are in the Chicken Crust?
This keto pizza crust recipe uses ingredients that individually have zero carbs. There are probably the only traces of carbs from the seasonings and the cheese. Anyways a serving of the ground chicken pizza crust has less than 1g of carbs.
Can I Freeze Chicken Crust Pizza?
Yes, this recipe is perfectly freezer-friendly. All you have to do is to pre-bake the chicken crust before freezing. Let the keto pizza crust completely cool down then wrap it in plastic wraps and freeze for up to 2 months.
When it’s time to make pizza again, reheat the crust in the oven at 400F on parchment paper. Add the toppings and bake until the cheese melts and the toppings look done.
Can I Use Canned Chicken for this Keto Pizza Crust?
Yes, you can use canned chicken to make this keto pizza crust. Drain all the liquids well and mix with the cheese and seasonings. Bake the canned chicken crust and then add any toppings you desire. You may want to add an egg to bind all the ingredients together.

That would be great! Follow the same steps:)
Does this actually taste like pizza or more like chicken and pizza toppings?
Also, any recs for low carb pizza sauce?
It tastes good. Chicken with pizza toppings. As for a low carb pizza sauce, I mix plain tomato sauce with my Italian Seasoning and bring to a boil. Let the sauce infuse for a few hours or overnight. I should probably make a detailed recipe on the blog on how I make my sugar free keto-friendly pizza sauce.
How much chicken if using canned chicken
Use the same amount of canned chicken as freshly shredded chicken.
I was going to use already cooked non canned shredded chicken. Would I use the same amount as raw ground chicken? (1 lb cooked shredded chicken breast)
If you are using already cooked shredded chicken breast in a recipe that calls for raw ground chicken, you may need to adjust the quantity to ensure that the recipe turns out properly.
One pound of raw ground chicken will yield a different amount of cooked shredded chicken, so it’s difficult to give an exact conversion without knowing the specifics of the recipe. However, as a general rule, one pound of raw ground chicken is roughly equivalent to two cups of cooked shredded chicken.
