What Are Fat Bombs?

Fat bombs are a high-fat snack made from a flavourful combination of healthy fats like coconut oil, MCT oil, butter/ grass-fed butter, ghee, and different kinds of nut butter.

Usually, they have about 80 – 90 % fat, making a great snack when sweet cravings are kicking in.

It’s a great way to up the fat intake without going over with protein or carbs macros. There are different flavors you can try, but I love the peanut butter low carb fat bombs.

This keto fat bomb recipe is perfect for you if you are chocolate and love divine sugar-free desserts.

Low carb fat bombs are very popular in the keto diet, and they can be sweet or savory. If you are not following a high-fat diet, you can still enjoy fat bombs because they are healthy and high in good fats.

What’s fantastic about these fat bombs besides being low carb high fat, is they are also dairy-free and perfect if you are looking for a creamy paleo dessert.

Read the ingredient list when buying the peanut butter because we are looking for one that made entirely from peanuts and doesn’t have unhealthy sugars added.

Don’t substitute the coconut oil with MCT oil because it does not harden ever, and you’ll end up with a keto syrup.

PRO TIP: For the keto-approved sweetener, you can choose the powdered versions to avoid clumps. I use and recommend powdered erythritol or Monk fruit.

Finally a fast & easy fat bomb recipe that I don’t have to trash my whole kitchen for. I once tried coconut butter instead of peanut butter & YEOWSA! Delish! Will try with all different kinds of nut butters moving forward. Thanks so much for this super simple, yummy fat bomb recipe!

  2. I didn’t have the mini muffin tins so had to use those long ice molds for them ….. do you have any idea how many ounces s serving is ….. I’m going to have to cut mine in pieces

    Thanks kelly

    1. Yes, you can use peanut butter powder as a substitute in the recipe. However, keep in mind that peanut butter powder will have a different texture and fat content compared to regular peanut butter. To use peanut butter powder, you’ll need to adjust the recipe slightly to account for the lack of fat and moisture. Here’s how you could do it:

If the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of peanut butter, you can use an equivalent amount of peanut butter powder, but you’ll need to rehydrate it. A general guideline is to mix 2 parts peanut butter powder with 1 part water to reach a consistency similar to that of traditional peanut butter. So, for 1/2 cup of peanut butter, start with about 1/3 cup of peanut butter powder and gradually add water until you achieve the desired consistency.

Since the coconut oil in the recipe provides the fat, you may not need to adjust the amount of oil, but be prepared to tweak it slightly if the mixture seems too dry or too crumbly.

Keep in mind that using peanut butter powder may slightly alter the flavor and texture of the final product, making it a bit lighter in fat. It’s a great way to reduce calories and fat content if that’s your goal.

Enjoy experimenting with the recipe, and I hope it turns out delicious!
