The secret to the best keto coffee: add grass-fed butter, coconut oil or MCT oil and heavy whipping cream to dark coffee. At first, I thought it’s so gross to see all that fat floating on my coffee.

But after I tried it, I was so surprised by the creamy taste. If you feel fancy, you can add different spices during the brewing like cinnamon, nutmeg or ice cubes & vanilla extract.

The bulletproof coffee concept was created by  Dave Asprey that claims that after drinking a cup of the delicious coffee “you will have no interest in food for four to six hours” which make it great for weight-loss”.

BPC is usually used in intermittent fasting because of its properties to keep you full for a longer time and more energized than usual.

Essential ingredients for the bulletproof coffee:

  • Grass-fed butter

The butter was always blamed because it’s loaded with saturated fat and could lead to heart attacks. Studies show that there is no link between saturated fats and heart disease. Butter that comes from cows that are eating grass is loaded with vitamin K2 which reduces the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. Even that most people didn’t hear about K vitamins, they contain a lot of nutrients that fight against bone and heart disease. Grass-fed butter is an awesome source of butyrate ( short-chain fatty acid ) which has anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 2 cups coffee
  • 2 tbsp Organic, Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil
  • 2 tbsp. grass-fed butter (unsalted )
  • 2 tbsp. Lactose-free Whipping Cream

How to Make Bulletproof Coffee?

  1. Add the coffee, coconut oil, and the whipping cream into your blender bowl.

  1. Hi Ioana, where do you find lactose free heavy cream? Or are you referring to a plant based cream like product?

    I’m new to Keto. Can you drink this twice a day? Sometimes I’m in a rush at lunch and this seems like it could be a good option to have lunch on some days too.

    1. I am a huge fan of a healthy and nutritious diet, and I'd say that you need to eat real food to get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs. This is very important, especially since your body is trying to adapt to a new lifestyle. Switching from a glucose burner to burning fat for energy requires lots of attention.

    1. I am not sure what's the difference between the two of them (the extract method). I guess the liquid one has something that prevents it from hardening when chilled but with the same benefits.

  3. Where can I get lactose free HWC, I use the organic Horizons HWC but I don’t think it’s lactose free. Also I’d like to know if I can use 2tbspn of MCT or butter in order to reach my fat content for the day .????

    1. It’s not necessary to use lactose-free if you’re not intolerant to dairy. Yes, You can add MCT oil or butter for extra fats and creaminess.
