This high protein pizza crust completely surprised me. Just two simple ingredients turn into a light, airy cloud bread pizza base in about 15 minutes. It bakes with crispy golden edges and a soft center that actually holds your toppings. With almost zero carbs, only 155 calories, and over 30 grams of protein, this low calorie, low carb pizza crust is one of the easiest high protein dinners you can make.

keto pizza crust with 2 ingredients

Simple, satisfying, and perfect for piling on your favorite toppings—this cloud bread pizza is one you’ll want on repeat. 🍕

Learn how to make the easiest high protein pizza crust without using fathead dough. As much as I love a classic fathead pizza, sometimes I want something quicker, lighter, and lower in calories.

I also adore my cottage cheese pizza crust and cauliflower pizza crust. They’re both delicious and totally worth making. But this one? It’s even simpler and comes together faster.

Ever since I discovered this recipe, I’ve been using this protein pizza crust for everything. I even cut it in half and use it as “bread” for sandwiches. So good.

And before you ask, no, it does not taste eggy. You’ll have to trust me on this. The egg whites give structure and lift, but without the yolks, you don’t get that strong egg flavor that some low carb recipes can have.

A great pizza starts with the right grain free crust. I love crispy edges that hold together but stay soft and slightly chewy in the center. This homemade low carb pizza crust gives you all of that, plus it’s high in protein, low in calories, and incredibly easy to make.

Why This Is the Best Keto Pizza Crust

I’ve made a lot of keto pizza crusts over the years, and this one still surprises me every time.

Just 2 ingredients. That’s it. No complicated steps, no long ingredient list.

Ready in under 15 minutes. From mixing to oven to toppings, it’s one of the fastest pizza bases I make.

Delicious with anything. Classic pepperoni, veggie-loaded, extra cheese… it works with all your favorite toppings.

Almost zero carbs. There really isn’t another pizza crust this simple with carbs this low.

Only 155 calories. Light, but still satisfying.

Over 30g of protein. The crust alone packs more protein than most full meals.

Those crispy edges. Golden, slightly crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. That texture is everything.

This is the crust I make when I want pizza but still want to feel good after. It’s simple, high-protein, and honestly one of those recipes that makes you feel like you discovered a little secret.

High Protein Pizza Crust Ingredients Needed

I know what you’re thinking…just TWO ingredients? No almond flour, no mozzarella, no cauliflower?

Yes, really. And it somehow turns into the most satisfying pizza base I’ve ever made.

This has become our go-to weeknight dinner. My husband loves it, and I’ve made it so many times I’ve lost count.

Egg Whites

These cannot be replaced with flax eggs. You need to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, and that’s what gives this crust its structure and super airy texture. They’re the foundation of the whole recipe.

Unflavored Protein Powder

I use unflavored whey protein isolate, but egg white protein powder works beautifully too and is a great dairy-free option.

⚠️ Important: Do not use flavored protein powder. Vanilla or chocolate will completely change the taste. Trust me on this.

The protein powder is what helps create those golden, crispy edges and gives the crust stability. It’s essential and cannot be skipped.

Yes, there’s no cauliflower either! Just 2 ingredients to make a magical zero-carb pizza crust.

How to Make This 2 Ingredient Keto Pizza Crust

Now that you’ve seen how simple the ingredients are, let me show you just how easy this is to make.

  1. Separate the eggs and place the egg whites in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This is important. The air you whip into the egg whites is what gives the crust its structure and light texture. I recommend using an electric mixer or stand mixer to make it quick and effortless.
  3. Gently mix in the protein powder until fully incorporated, then shape the mixture into a 9-inch round on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven until the edges are golden brown and the top feels set to the touch.

That’s it. No kneading. No waiting. No complicated steps.

My Favorite Pizza Topping Ideas

Once the crust is ready, you can keep it simple or load it up. Here are some delicious ideas:

Adding pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella to the baked protein crust
  • Cheeseburger Pizza – Cheddar cheese, cooked ground beef, red onion, then topped after baking with chopped iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
  • BBQ Meat Lovers – BBQ sauce, shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, ham, and cooked beef mince.
  • Hot and Spicy – Spicy salami, mozzarella, jalapeños, onions, and a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • Ricotta & Spinach – Ricotta, cherry tomatoes, and fresh baby spinach.
  • Mediterranean – Olives, feta, and roasted red peppers.
  • Turkey Sausage – Sautéed turkey sausage with mozzarella and onion.
  • Fresh & Simple – Cherry tomatoes, feta, basil, and thinly sliced onion.

And if you’re wondering what I make most often?

Honestly, I love keeping it classic. A good sugar-free tomato sauce, plenty of shredded mozzarella, and slices of salami. Sometimes I’ll add a little red onion or fresh basil on top. Simple, cozy, and always a hit at our house.

You really can’t go wrong here. This crust works with almost anything.

Can You Replace Protein Powder?

I’ve tested this so you don’t have to. Here’s what works and what doesn’t:

  • ✅ Egg white powder — best substitute. Same result, slightly lighter texture.
  • ❌ Coconut flour — makes the crust dense and gummy. Doesn’t work.
  • ❌ Almond flour — crust won’t hold together. Gets soggy.
  • ❌ Regular flour — changes the texture and adds carbs, which defeats the purpose.
  • ❌ Flavored protein powder — technically works but tastes like a protein shake.

If you don’t have protein powder at all, try my Fathead Pizza instead. It’s just as delicious and a great low-carb option.

    1. In this specific recipe, I recommend to stick with the written recipe without making any substitutions. If you want to make pizza without protein powder, I recommend trying my keto pizza recipe with fathead dough.

  1. 5 stars
you are a wizard! what an amazing recipe! i love this crispy super proteinaceous crust! I whipped some up super lazy style with some carton egg whites and then popped it in an air fryer at 360 for 3 min then flipped it and put on toppings when the other side started to get crispy. My 7yo daughter who i had given a regular slice of pizza to stole some and demanded her own! Thank you

There are a lot of protein powders so would be nice to specify which kind you used ie whey isolate/whey casein blend, brand etc

    1. Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you loved the recipe and that it was a hit with your daughter too—kids have the best taste testers! For the protein powder, I used unflavored whey protein isolate, but you can also use unflavored egg white powder if you prefer. Your air fryer method sounds genius—so glad it worked out so well! Thanks for sharing your experience and for the kind words!
